Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) is one of Dubai’s major free zones, home to warehousing, logistics, trading, and manufacturing businesses. Operations at this scale create a steady stream of packaging and production waste: pallets, cartons, strapping, plastic film, metal off-cuts, and retired equipment. When these materials pile up, they take over loading bays and storage areas that should be earning money.

Ecocleaner Recycling LLC provides recycling and secure destruction services to businesses in JAFZA. We are a Dubai Municipality-approved company with 50+ UAE clients, and our team is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week. This guide explains what we collect, how secure destruction fits in, and how to prepare your waste.

What Businesses in JAFZA Typically Need to Recycle

Free zone operations tend to generate the same core waste streams again and again. The most common ones include:

  • Wooden pallets and crates: damaged or surplus pallets, timber dunnage, and cable reels. See our guide to wooden pallet recycling in Dubai.
  • Paper and cardboard: shipping cartons, corrugated boxes, and paper packaging. Read more about paper and cardboard recycling in Dubai.
  • Plastics: stretch film, packaging wraps, crates, drums, and production off-cuts.
  • PET and composite strapping: the straps used to secure loads and shipping containers, which cannot be reused once cut.
  • Metal: off-cuts, racking, and parts from manufacturing and fit-out work.
  • E-waste: retired IT hardware, scanners, and electrical equipment.
  • Textiles and glass: where they form part of your operation.

Strapping: A Material Many Recyclers Cannot Handle

Strapping is a daily reality for any business that ships goods on pallets or in containers. Once a strap has been cut, it cannot be used again, and tangled strapping is awkward to store and to dispose of. Ecocleaner has more than 10 years of experience recycling composite and PET strapping, and we are one of very few companies in the region equipped to process it. For logistics and warehouse teams, that means one provider can take both the strapping and the pallets, cartons, and film that come with it.

Secure Destruction for Off-Spec Goods and Branded Material

Recycling is not only about clean packaging. Businesses also deal with expired stock, defective goods, branded packaging, and old equipment that should never return to the market. Ecocleaner offers secure destruction for these items, followed by recycling of the recovered materials wherever possible. If you want to understand the paperwork involved, read about recycling certificates and destruction certificates.

How to Prepare Your Waste for Collection

A little preparation makes collection faster and keeps more of your material recyclable:

  • Separate by material. Keep pallets, cardboard, plastic, strapping, and metal apart rather than mixed.
  • Keep paper and cardboard dry. Wet material is harder to recycle.
  • Flatten boxes to save space and speed up loading.
  • Remove contamination, such as food waste or non-recyclable fittings.
  • Store material in a tidy, safe area with clear access for loading.

Choosing a Recycling Partner for Your JAFZA Business

When comparing providers, it is worth asking about approval, the materials they accept, how collections are scheduled, and what documentation you receive. Our guide on how to choose a reliable recycling company in Dubai gives a full checklist, and our article on Dubai Municipality approved recycling companies explains what that approval means.
