For logistics and warehouse operators in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), waste is not a side issue. Every inbound container and every outbound shipment leaves something behind: broken pallets, flattened cartons, cut strapping, stretch film, and damaged packaging. In a busy facility, these materials compete with stock for space, and a blocked loading bay costs real time.

Ecocleaner Recycling LLC provides recycling and secure destruction services to businesses in JAFZA, including logistics providers, freight forwarders, and warehouse operators. We are a Dubai Municipality-approved company with 50+ UAE clients and more than 10 years of experience recycling composite and PET strapping. Our team is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.

The Waste a Warehouse Produces Every Day

Warehouse waste is predictable, which makes it easier to plan for. The main streams are:

  • Pallets: broken, damaged, or surplus wooden pallets. See our guide to wooden pallet recycling in Dubai.
  • Cartons and paper packaging: outer boxes, inner dividers, and corrugated sheets. Read more about paper and cardboard recycling in Dubai.
  • Strapping: PET and composite straps cut from pallets and containers.
  • Plastic film: stretch wrap and shrink wrap removed during unpacking and repacking.
  • Damaged or expired goods: returns, rejected stock, and branded packaging.

Strapping: The Hard Material in a Warehouse

Most warehouse materials have an obvious recycling route. Strapping is the exception. Once a strap is cut, it cannot be used again, and it tangles easily, which makes it awkward to store and awkward to hand over to a recycler that is not set up for it.

Ecocleaner is one of very few companies in the region equipped to recycle composite and PET strapping. For a warehouse, that matters because one provider can take the strapping along with the pallets, cartons, and film that come with it, instead of splitting waste between several suppliers.

Returned, Expired, and Off-Spec Goods

Logistics operators often hold goods that cannot go back into the market: rejected consignments, expired stock, damaged items, and branded packaging. Ecocleaner offers secure destruction for these items, followed by recycling of the recovered materials wherever possible. A recycling or destruction certificate is issued as applicable to the service provided. To understand the difference, read about recycling certificates and destruction certificates.

Keeping Loading Bays Clear

Good waste habits keep a warehouse moving. A few practices make the biggest difference:

  • Set up a separate area for each material, so pallets, cartons, film, and strapping are never mixed.
  • Remove strapping and film at the point of unpacking, before they spread across the floor.
  • Keep cardboard dry and flattened to save space.
  • Keep waste areas away from loading doors, so trucks and forklifts have a clear path.
  • Keep damaged goods apart from general waste, so they can be handled correctly.
